Step by step

Follow along β€” one step at a time.

The blue outline in each picture shows exactly where to click. Your screen may look a little different β€” that's okay.

01

Open the download link

  • aClick the blue Download TeamViewer button below. It opens a Google Drive folder in a new tab.
  • bFind the file that starts with TeamViewer (it ends in .dmg) and double-click it.
Download TeamViewer
02

Download the file

  • aClick the Download arrow in the top-right corner.
  • bIf a message pops up, click Download anyway. If Safari asks "Do you want to allow downloads?", click Allow.
03

Open the file you downloaded

  • aIn Safari, click the Downloads arrow at the top-right of the window.
  • bDouble-click TeamViewer.dmg. A new window opens.
Using Chrome? Look at the top-right too, or press ⌘ Cmd + βŒ₯ Option + L to see your downloads.
04

Double-click "Install TeamViewer"

  • aIn the window that opened, double-click the Install TeamViewer icon.
  • bYour Mac asks "Are you sure you want to open it?" β€” click Open.
05

Click through the installer

  • aClick Continue, then Agree to the licence.
  • bClick Install.
  • cType the password you use to log in to your Mac, then click Install Software. (Or use Touch ID.)
  • dWhen it says "The installation was successful", click Close.

The important one
06

Let TeamViewer see your screen

  • aTeamViewer opens and asks for access. Click Request Access or Open System Settings.
  • bUnder Screen & System Audio Recording, switch TeamViewer on.
  • cGo back and do the same under Accessibility.
  • dIf asked, enter your Mac password and click Quit & Reopen.
Why this matters: without these two switches, Wayne will only see a blank screen and can't move your mouse.

Both switches should be blue (on).

07

Find your ID and Password

  • aOpen TeamViewer (it's in your Applications folder, or press ⌘ Cmd + Space and type TeamViewer).
  • bLook for Your ID and Password under Allow Remote Control.
The password is temporary β€” it can change each time TeamViewer opens. Always send the one showing right now.

Example numbers β€” yours will be different.

08

Send your ID and Password to Wayne

  • aText them to 021 0238 2799, or email wayne@frostbyte.co.nz.
  • bKeep TeamViewer open. Wayne will connect and you'll see your mouse move by itself β€” that's him working.
  • cYou're done! Sit back and watch.
